Cirque du Soleil have a really nice placement on the LATimes.com home page today…
I like it for a couple of reasons:
* The large ad unit in the centre of the page opens on permission, so it doesn’t disrupt the user experience. When you arrive on the page, it sits above the lead article as a discrete tile.
* The video ad unit on the right is really good content, that encourages the user to interact either with it directly, or via one of the other ad units to find out more about the show.
The only real downside is that the wallpaper itself isn’t clickable. Perhaps LATimes.com doesn’t have this functionality available.
